You hear the music, don’t you?

Where’s the True Theology


The worship songs climbing up the charts, lyrics printed on bulletins, songs that make you feel something….. But let me ask you straight:


Do the lyrics line up with the Word of God, or are we singing pretty lies?
Are they Theologically correct?!
They sing, “He was dragged down, pulled into the pit.” That’s not the Bible. That’s fiction. Proverbs 16:9 KJV says, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” Jesus didn’t get dragged. He laid down His life, voluntarily.


John 10:17-18 KJV declares, “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.” He wasn’t a victim in the grave. He was the Conqueror.
The lyrics got it wrong; so who are we teaching?
Now here’s where it gets dangerous. Artists who wear the label “Christian” turn around and cheer for what God calls abomination. Leviticus 18:22 KJV states clearly, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”


Lauren Daigle plus many others…. Yes it’s truth and wrong to listen to or support!  When you support these, you’re affirming your agreement with their allowances.


Romans 1:26-27 KJV continues, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly…” And 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 KJV warns, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”


You can’t mix light and darkness. You can’t call yourself Christ’s and cheer for what Christ calls sin. 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 KJV asks, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”


They’ll tell you, “Grace covers everything.” But grace covers repentance, not continuing in sin….. and to believe differently is heresy!

Romans 6:1-2 KJV answers, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” Jude 1:4 KJV warns of “certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”


That’s what’s happening, people turning grace into an excuse.
That’s the false gospel Jude warned about. Titus 2:11-12 KJV clarifies, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.” Grace teaches us to say no to sin,not to cheer for it.

Here’s the truth no one wants to hear.

Matthew 7:21-23 KJV records Jesus saying, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” You can sing in His name, call yourself Christian, sell millions, but if you reject His Word, I never knew you.
II Timothy 4:3-4 KJV prophesies, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” That time is now. People are buying fables thinking it’s gospel, itching ears instead of open Bibles.

James 1:22 KJV commands, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Acts 17:11 KJV commends the Bereans as “more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Were the Bereans noble because they felt good about Paul’s message? No, they checked it against Scripture, daily. You should do the same with every song, every artist, every lyric. 1 John 4:1 KJV instructs, “Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”


There are false prophets singing now, and people are dancing to their lies.


What will you do?


Keep singing what makes you feel holy, or will you test every spirit—and hold fast to the truth? Revelation 22:18-19 KJV warns, “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”


Don’t add to it. Don’t take away. Don’t sing fiction and call it worship. Because one day, the music stops—and only the Word remains. 2 Peter 1:19 KJV concludes, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” The Song is the Word. Not the playlist. Not the artist. The Word.

Dan Haseltine (Jars of Clay) – CCM frontman who tweeted support for same-sex marriage in 2014 before it was legal nationwide


Jon Foreman (Switchfoot) – Posted TikTok supporting LGBTQ+ rights; said “I support your rights and freedoms; I want you to feel loved and supported” after Grace Semler called for artist support


Miranda Lambert – Christian country star whose song “Y’all Means All” explicitly includes LGBTQ+ people; featured on Queer Eye


Garth Brooks – Country Christian star whose 1993 song “We Shall Be Free” included “When we’re free to love anyone we choose”; song was boycotted by country radio; says line was about same-sex marriage among other things


Imagine Dragons (Dan Reynolds) – Frontman Dan Reynolds raised Mormon, now vocal queer ally; hosts LoveLoud Festival for LGBTQ+ youth in Salt Lake City


Dolly Parton – Christian country icon who says “we’re supposed to love one another… that’s so un-Christian” to judge/condemn gay people


Patti LaBelle – Soul legend who says “I’m still the Patti LaBelle who accepts gay people while a lot of churches won’t accept gay people”


Relient K – Christian pop-rock band that added openly queer artist Semler as tour opener; has openly gay/nonbinary person touring with them


Plumb (Tiffany Lee) – Christian singer who affirms LGBTQ+ and is openly supportive


Rend Collective – Christian folk band that advocates for trans rights and supports LGBTQ+ theologians
