Please, just eat!

Grace is the completeness of Christ’s work at Calvary, yet church folk and others still strive to be ‘on top of things’, always seeking systems for spiritual progress, ladder climbing, one upsmanship and more.
In Hebrews, Colossians, and Galatians, the Holy Spirit through the writers reminds believers that grace isn’t earned or “activated” through methods, but comes only by faith.

Many Christians have used or do use the “Daniel Fast” and other such foolishness as a temporary diet combined with increased prayer and Bible reading. Just because Daniel and his friends ate vegetables and water, doesn’t mean it’s a way to Christ or Grace.  Saved is Saved, you can’t add a cubit to your stature physically, spiritually or otherwise.

Resting in grace, not earning It is how we should live every second of every day!
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
Christians, churches, pastors, authors, charlatans, etc all love formulas. Whether it’s success plans, fitness regimens, or spiritual programs, they gravitate toward steps they can follow to feel progress.

Church trends like the Daniel Fast or other structured “spiritual challenges” appeal to that same instinct, to feel closer to God by doing something measurable.
There is value in discipline, but danger comes when people are taught or allowed to treat these things as keys to unlock what Christ has already given.

The writer of Hebrews and the Boldness spoken of isn’t earned through fasting or performance; it comes from Jesus’ finished work. When He declared, “It is finished,” the veil separating God and humanity was torn forever.
God doesn’t tell you to diet! Seriously, are people so shallow.

No I’m not talking about health issues or weight loss etc. I’m saying that God doesn’t throw dreams and visions around, nor does He command you to eat veggies only or peanuts and coke, really?!

It’s the millions of dollars people make when others do these ridiculous things that worries me,because anything that suggests we must climb back over barriers to reach Him only rebuilds what He destroyed at Calvary, and the great Paul warns in Colossians 2:8 about being taken captive by “philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition.”
In other words, anything that promises holiness apart from Christ Himself is a sin.

Spiritual disciplines can strengthen faith when born from grace, but they cannot create it; Grace isn’t a ladder you climb; it’s the ground you already stand on in Him.
